Justine Dillon

Traditional Owner
Welcome to Country

Justin Dillon is a Kombumerri Quandamooka proud Aboriginal Woman, local to the Gold Coast and Moreton Bay, with many family connections in the Southeast.

Justine has been an active and engaged member of her community, having undertaken her own education in it, going on to teach for 4 years prior to managing Ngarang-Wal due to family succession.

Justine sits in many national, state and local committees to engage and share Aboriginal Culture. She has provided her educational services both nationally and internationally to cross cultural audiences.

She is a cross cultural educator, and has combined her western education degree with Cultural knowledge, creating engaging lessons and awareness training available to the broader community. Her work has enabled local families to practice their culture, bring back lost ceremonies, and provided the opportunity for connection with their Indigenous heritage.

She is the creator of the first Kombumerri dance troupe, has been awarded grants to support the first Gold Coast Indigenous Rangers program and was a key participant in the first Federal Government co-design consultation.

Justine spoke on the Olympic and Paralympic panel 2023 for the Environment sector as a representative of her Country. As a Traditional Owner and Cultural Woman, Justine has provided Cultural advisory services to both the public and private sectors, relevant to her Cultural responsibilities. She sits on several Indigenous committees and reference groups and is active in Indigenous tourism, Indigenous rangers programs, youth justice and cultural engagement, wildlife health, Indigenous protected area management, traditional fire and land care practices, cross cultural education, early childhood education and the practice of her ancestral Lore.
