In light of recent public attention surrounding Wombankind Festival, we have updated our 2026 Participant Waiver to ensure the purpose, values and participant eligibility of the festival are clearly communicated and understood.

Wombankind has always been created as a female-only gathering centred around the biological female experience. This update does not represent a change to the foundations of the festival, but provides greater clarity around the space we are creating and the conditions of participation.

All participants attending Wombankind Festival 2026 will be required to read and sign the updated waiver upon entry to the festival.

If you have already purchased your ticket, a copy of the updated waiver has been sent to you via email so you have the opportunity to read it prior to attending.

WOMBANKIND FESTIVAL 2026 – PARTICIPANT WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

This Waiver and Release of Liability (“Waiver”) is entered into by the undersigned participant (“Participant”) in relation to their attendance at and participation in Wombankind Festival 2026 (“Event”), held in Queensland, Australia.

EVENT PURPOSE AND PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY

Wombankind Festival is a women-centred gathering created specifically around the biological female experience and the physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual experiences associated with female life.

The Event’s program includes teachings, workshops, discussions and practices relating to experiences including menstruation, the menstrual cycle, the womb, fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, motherhood, menopause, female embodiment and the biological and ancestral experiences associated with being female.

Because these experiences form the foundational purpose and character of Wombankind Festival, the Event has been intentionally created as a female-only space for women who are biologically female.

For the purposes of the Event, this includes women who were born female, including women who may no longer menstruate or have reproductive organs due to age, menopause, hysterectomy, medical treatment, surgery or other circumstances.

This eligibility criterion is not intended as a statement about the identity, dignity or worth of any person outside the scope of the Event. Rather, it reflects the specific purpose, subject matter and lived experience around which Wombankind Festival has been created.

By signing this Waiver and entering the Event, the Participant acknowledges that they have read, understood and agree to comply with the Event’s eligibility requirements, participant policies and conditions of entry.

By signing this Waiver, the Participant further acknowledges, understands and agrees to the following:

1. ASSUMPTION OF RISK

Parents and guardians bringing babies or children to the Event acknowledge that they are solely responsible for the safety, supervision and well-being of their child(ren) at all times. The Event Organisers, staff, volunteers, facilitators and associated parties accept no responsibility or liability for any injury, illness, harm, loss or accident involving a child during the Event, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Parents and guardians must ensure their children are supervised and adhere to all festival rules, including those related to safety, noise levels and respect for other participants. The Event is held in a natural environment, and there may be risks including but not limited to wildlife, uneven terrain, water hazards, extreme weather and other festival-related activities.

By attending, parents and guardians acknowledge and voluntarily assume the inherent risks associated with bringing their children to the Event.

Participants acknowledge that the Event is held in a natural environment where they may be exposed to risks including uneven terrain, limited access to immediate medical assistance and exposure to natural elements such as extreme temperatures, wildlife and insects. Camping areas must be maintained in a safe and respectful manner, and all participants agree to follow fire safety protocols, including only using designated fire areas and adhering to any fire bans or restrictions.

Participants acknowledge the potential for emotional or psychological distress, including the surfacing of past trauma, due to participation in activities such as workshops, discussions, healing practices or other immersive experiences.

Participants understand they are responsible for monitoring their own emotional well-being and seeking appropriate support where needed.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Event Organisers and facilitators are not acting as medical or psychological professionals. Participation in the Event is not a substitute for professional mental health or medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Participants with concerns regarding their physical, emotional or psychological well-being are encouraged to consult an appropriately qualified professional before participating.

Participants engaging in high-intensity physical activities, breathwork, movement practices or alternative or complementary healing activities do so voluntarily and acknowledge the inherent risks associated with participation. Participants should consult an appropriate medical professional before participating if they have concerns about their health or ability to participate safely.

The Participant acknowledges that attending and participating in the Event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

• Physical injury, illness or medical conditions, including dehydration, heat exhaustion, allergic reactions or other health complications.

• Risks associated with outdoor environments, including exposure to wildlife, uneven terrain, weather conditions and natural hazards.

• Potential injury arising from participation in workshops, movement-based activities such as yoga and dance, meditation practices and interactions with festival structures, equipment or other participants.

• The risk of contracting communicable illnesses.

The Participant voluntarily assumes the inherent risks associated with their participation, subject always to any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

2. RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNIFICATION

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Participant acknowledges and agrees that this Waiver is intended to limit the liability of the Event Organisers and associated parties in connection with the Participant’s voluntary attendance at and participation in the Event.

Nothing in this Waiver is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any guarantee, right, remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under applicable Australian or Queensland law.

By signing this Waiver, the Participant confirms they have had the opportunity to read and understand its terms before participation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Participant releases and discharges the Event Organisers, including the Event hosts, organisers, employees, volunteers, facilitators, guest speakers, contractors, vendors, sponsors, landowners and associated parties (“Released Parties”), from claims, liabilities, damages, costs or legal actions arising from risks voluntarily assumed by the Participant in connection with participation in the Event.

This Waiver applies to all individuals participating or involved in the Event, including but not limited to:

• General attendees and ticket holders

• Facilitators, workshop leaders and performers

• Guest speakers and panellists

• Volunteers, Event crew and staff members

• Vendors, stallholders and contractors

Subject to applicable law, the release includes claims arising in connection with:

• Accidents, injuries or illness occurring at the Event.

• Loss, theft or damage to personal property.

• Exposure to infectious or communicable illnesses.

• Environmental hazards, including extreme weather, wildlife and venue conditions.

• Acts of third parties, including other participants, vendors or attendees.

• Force majeure events, including acts of nature, government actions or other circumstances outside the reasonable control of the Event Organisers.

To the extent permitted by law, the Participant agrees to indemnify the Released Parties against claims, loss or damage caused by the Participant’s own unlawful, negligent or wrongful acts or omissions while attending the Event.

Nothing in this section excludes liability to the extent that it cannot lawfully be excluded.

This agreement is binding upon the Participant and, to the extent permitted by law, their heirs, assigns, legal representatives and next of kin and shall be governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

3. MEDICAL CONSENT

The Participant acknowledges and agrees that:

• They are responsible for their own health and well-being and will take appropriate precautions while participating.

• They will inform the Event Organisers of any relevant pre-existing medical condition where disclosure is reasonably necessary for their safe participation or emergency care.

• In the event of a medical emergency, the Event Organisers may seek medical assistance on the Participant’s behalf where reasonably necessary.

• Any costs incurred for medical treatment, ambulance services or hospitalisation are the responsibility of the Participant, subject to applicable law.

4. PERSONAL PROPERTY

The Participant acknowledges that they are responsible for their personal belongings while attending the Event.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Event Organisers accept no liability for personal property that is lost, stolen or damaged during the Event.

5. BEHAVIOUR AND COMPLIANCE WITH FESTIVAL RULES

Wombankind Festival is committed to creating a safe, respectful, mindful and supportive environment for all participants who meet the Event’s eligibility criteria.

Participants agree to act responsibly, respect the boundaries and experiences of others and conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the purpose and values of the Event.

Excessive intoxication, possession or use of illegal substances, threatening conduct, harassment, intimidation or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated. The Event Organisers reserve the right to remove a participant engaging in such conduct, subject to applicable law and the Event’s terms and conditions.

Participants agree to maintain a space free from unlawful discrimination, harassment and inappropriate behaviour. Verbal abuse, intimidation, sexual harassment, threatening behaviour, bullying or unlawful discrimination will not be tolerated.

For clarity, the Event’s participant eligibility criteria are separate from this behavioural requirement. Respect for all people is expected regardless of whether a person falls within the participant group for whom Wombankind Festival has been created.

Disagreement with, criticism of or discussion about the Event’s eligibility criteria does not entitle any participant to harass, intimidate, threaten, abuse, deliberately disrupt or target another participant, facilitator, volunteer, staff member or Event Organiser.

The Event Organisers reserve the right, subject to applicable law and the Event’s terms and conditions, to refuse entry to or remove a person whose behaviour threatens the safety, privacy, dignity, wellbeing or reasonable enjoyment of participants, or materially disrupts the Event.

Participants acknowledge that failure to comply with festival rules, security instructions or health and safety protocols may result in removal from the Event. Unlawful behaviour may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

The Participant agrees to comply with all festival rules, policies and guidelines, including:

• Respecting all persons, property and wildlife within the Event premises.

• Respecting the privacy, personal boundaries and lived experiences of other participants.

• Following reasonable instructions from Event staff, security personnel and emergency responders.

• Abstaining from illegal substances and prohibited activities.

• Refraining from harassment, intimidation, threatening conduct, deliberate disruption or targeted abuse.

• Complying with all applicable laws and regulations in Queensland, Australia.

Failure to adhere to these requirements may result in refusal of entry or removal from the Event, subject to applicable law and the Event’s refund and ticketing terms.

6. MEDIA CONSENT

The Participant grants permission to the Event Organisers to photograph, film or record them during the Event for promotional, marketing or archival purposes.

The Participant waives any entitlement to compensation arising solely from authorised use of such media.

If the Participant does not consent to being photographed or recorded, they must inform the Event Organisers in writing prior to the Event so that reasonable arrangements can be discussed.

7. LEGAL AGE & CAPACITY

The Participant confirms that they are 18 years of age or older or, where attendance by a person under 18 is permitted by the Event, that all required parent or legal guardian consent has been obtained.

8. GOVERNING LAW

This Waiver shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Queensland, Australia, and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts and tribunals of Queensland as applicable.

9. AGREEMENT & SIGNATURE

By signing below, the Participant acknowledges that they have read and understood this Waiver and voluntarily agree to its terms.

The Participant acknowledges that:

• they understand the nature and purpose of Wombankind Festival;

• they have read and understood the Event’s participant eligibility criteria;

• they agree to comply with the Event’s conditions of entry and behavioural expectations;

• they understand the inherent risks associated with participation in the Event; and

• this Waiver may affect certain legal rights, but does not exclude any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
